Connected KYC 1.4 Release Notes
This content applies solely to Connected KYC, which must be purchased separately from the Appian base platform. This content was written for Appian 23.1 and may not reflect the interfaces or functionality of other Appian versions.

What's New?

The Connected KYC 1.4 release notes provide an overview of the latest changes and improvements to the Connected KYC Solution. The new features and improved capabilities were designed with best practices in mind.

Improve Logging for Appian Process Mining

Using Connected KYC drives transparency, auditability, and efficiency throughout the Investigation lifecycle. Customers who get the most out of Connected KYC continually evaluate their Investigation business processes for opportunities to streamline through automation and other improvements.

A great way for Connected KYC customers to continually improve their Investigation business process is by using Appian Process Mining. Appian Process Mining analyzes event logs captured throughout their use of Connected KYC and uncovers process deviations and Investigation attributes with the greatest impact on inefficiencies in the Investigation process. To learn more about Appian Process Mining, see Appian Process Mining.

The latest release of Connected KYC includes improvements to the way audit data is captured and stored throughout the Investigation lifecycle to better enable leveraging Appian Process Mining for valuable insights. As a result, customers purchasing Appian Process Mining to gain insights on their use of Connected KYC can more quickly and easily prepare their data for analysis by Appian Process Mining.

Checkbox Response Option Style Added to KYC Questions

The ability to define dynamic KYC questionnaires to assess the risk a potential customer or customer change poses to the business is a core capability of Connected KYC. In previous releases, KYC questionnaires supported a variety of response option types:

  • Date
  • Dropdown
  • Paragraph
  • Radio Button

This release introduces a new response option style - Checkbox, which matches the capabilities of the existing Dropdown response option style.

You can configure questions using the Checkbox or Dropdown response option style to:

  • Allow one or multiple response selections.
  • Allow a maximum number of response selections when multiple response selections are allowed. For example, you can configure a question with a checkbox response that allows respondents to pick the three most relevant response options.

You can define each response for a question that uses the Checkbox or Dropdown response option style to:

  • Increase the calculated risk score for the customer by a user-defined increment
  • Upon selection, trigger the addition of any number of tasks and document requirements to the Investigation to be completed.
  • Dynamically display additional required questions for the respondent to answer.

Since the Checkbox and Dropdown response option styles support the same capabilities, you can change questions that currently use the Dropdown response option style to the Checkbox response option style without losing any of the other question and response configurations noted above.

Solution Support
