The Vendor Management (VM) 1.6 Release Notes provide an overview of the latest changes and improvements to the Vendor Management Solution. The new features and improved capabilities were designed with best practices in mind.
With the State and Local Government (SLG) toggle feature the VM solution supports both Federal and SLG markets. This feature enables switching the terminology and identifiers (UEI, TIN, NIGP etc.) used throughout the VM solution from the US Federal government-aligned vocabularies to SLG-aligned vocabularies.
For example, the vendor registration form and the vendor profile page will be specific to customers who are viewing, Federal or SLG. When the SLG toggle is enabled, the following vendor identifiers are used for registration:
When the SLG configuration is disabled, the following vendor identifiers are used for registration:
Note: The SLG toggle is disabled by default. Privileged users can enable the SLG toggle in the Solutions Hub.
Go to Enable or disable State and Local Government Toggle to learn more about enabling or disabling the SLG toggle.
In VM 1.6, vendor admins and contracting personnel can add or update additional vendor details such as:
The features listed below are deprecated and will be removed in a future release of Vendor Management. Appian recommends not to use the deprecated features in the current and previous releases. Where applicable, supported alternatives are described for each deprecation.
In VM 1.5 the vendor registration type configuration was available for the privileged users in the CONFIGURATION tab in VM solution. This registration type configuration is now removed in VM 1.6. Go to Enable or disable State and Local Government Toggle for more information.
The Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number is removed from SAM.gov. As part of this transition, the DUNS number is no longer used in VM as a vendor identification number starting with this release.
