The capabilities described on this page are included in Appian's standard capability tier. Usage limits may apply.

Note:  You can only complete this procedure using the Appian RPA console and if you have not upgraded to Appian 23.3 and RPA 9.3. This procedure is not available in Appian Designer or for robotic tasks created using Appian Designer. See the Unification Guide for information about additional changes.

A robotic task is the result of the integration of all Appian RPA platform components. A robotic task follows steps that are configured in the Appian RPA console and executes on a specified robot. This page discusses how to create a robotic task in Appian RPA by copying an existing configuration.

Required role: Developer or Administrator

  1. Go to the robotic task configuration page.
  2. Click the Duplicate robotic task icon rpa-duplicate-robotic-process-icon.png in the toolbar. The Confirm copy window displays.

  3. Edit the name for the copied robotic task. By default, the New robotic task name field contains the name of the robotic task you're copying. The robotic task name must be unique.
  4. Click OK. The copied robotic task configuration displays instead of the original robotic task configuration.
