What's new?

The Vendor Management (VM) 1.5 Release Notes provide an overview of the latest changes and improvements to the Vendor Management Solution. The new features and improved capabilities were designed with best practices in mind.

Award messaging

In addition to recent enhancements that allow contracting personnel and vendors to exchange messages about opportunities, we’re extending our Messaging and Inbox capabilities to allow them to communicate about awards as well. Now, users will be able view awards from the Award Management solution, submit award documents, and send messages about those awards all within the VM solution.

Proposal resubmission

Streamline the proposal resubmission request process. We’ve added request resubmission capabilities to the VM solution to make it easier for contracting officers to open as many resubmission rounds as necessary after the due date has passed. Contracting officers will have the option to post an update that will be visible on the opportunity summary. Email notifications will be automatically sent to each vendor selected to resubmit proposals.

Azure OpenAI for message thread summarization

Starting in this release, message thread summarization is now powered by Azure OpenAI to provide a FedRAMP compliant option to government agencies interested in using this feature.

Go to Setting up Azure OpenAI Integration to learn more about setting up Azure OpenAI for message thread summarization.

Deprecations

The features listed below are deprecated and will be removed in a future release of Vendor Management. Do not begin using deprecated features, and transition away from any prior usage of now deprecated features. Where applicable, supported alternatives are described for each deprecation.

OpenAI for message thread summarization

In Vendor Management 1.4 the message thread summarization AI capability was powered by OpenAI.

If you are installing Vendor Management for the first time using version 1.5, you will encounter a warning when installing the application package prompting you to download the OpenAI plug-in. You can ignore this warning and should not install the OpenAI plug-in, because the OpenAI object triggering this warning is deprecated.
