The Connected Underwriting 1.3 release notes provide an overview of the latest changes and improvements to the Connected Underwriting Solution. These improvements were designed with best practices in mind.
This release includes an Azure OpenAI integration that generates message thread summaries that allow underwriters to quickly scan their messages and identify high-priority messages. Instead of spending valuable time reading through each message individually, this integration saves your underwriters time, reduces their response time, and allows them to make critical case decisions quickly.
Now equipped with a pre-trained model, the CU P&C solution instantly identifies supported documents for streamlined data extraction. Say goodbye to classification headaches that strain your team's productivity. With Appian AI Skills, designers gain enhanced control, create more models, train diverse documents, and manage confidence scores with ease.

This release also includes upgrades to our data ingestion process by transitioning the CU P&C solution away from using the Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) functionality to process documents. Instead, it uses the Appian AI Skill powered by a machine learning model to extract data from supported structured and semi-structured forms with improved accuracy.
