What's New in Contract Writing? The Contract Writing 1.5 release notes provide an overview of the latest changes and improvements to the Contract Writing Solution. The new features and improved capabilities were designed with best practices in mind. Generative AI for Contract Text In this release, Contract Writing harnesses the power of generative AI by providing contracting personnel with the ability to automatically generate text for sections in the contract. In addition to manually customizing the text and flexibly formatting using the rich-text editor, contracting officers can now leverage AI to draft the basic body of the contract using details directly from the procurement. This will save them time and allow them to focus on the accuracy of finer details, expediting the contract writing process and reducing procurement action lead time (PALT). Integrate with Requirements Management For customers who also have our Requirements Management (RM) solution, this release provides the ability to integrate Contract Writing solution with RM. With this integration, contracting personnel can quickly see which requirements are ready for procurement creation directly in their Contract Writing solution. In addition, users can view the requirement details and any related documents before creating a solicitation or award directly from the requirement. When a procurement has been created, the CW solution communicates this information with the RM solution and allows requestors to see the procurement status, providing more transparency between the requisitioning and contracting teams. Enhanced Procurement Record Management Contract Writing now offers contracting personnel the flexibility and convenience of duplicating existing solicitations and awards. A contracting officer may elect to do this when a new procurement might have very similar details to an existing procurement. For example, they might want to copy another task order from the same parent IDV award. This feature saves them time by eliminating the need to manually enter the same contract information over again. In addition to duplication, Contract Writing also supports deletion of draft procurements. This allows contracting personnel to remove procurements that are no longer needed on the listed procurements, so they can focus on relevant solicitations and awards that need to be worked on.
