GCA 2.8 Release Notes

This content applies solely to Government Clause Automation, which must be purchased separately from the Appian base platform.

What's new?

The Government Clause Automation (GCA) 2.8 release notes provide an overview of the latest changes and improvements to the GCA solution. The new features and improved capabilities were designed with best practices in mind.

Create clause set process improvements

GCA 2.8 introduces several enhancements to the user experience for the clause set creation and update processes. These improvements provide the necessary context and next steps to help you make better decisions about what actions you want to take during clause set generation.

Now, you can leave the clause set wizard as soon as all the necessary information is provided. This enhancement allows you to monitor the progress of the current clause set being generated or close the wizard and continue to work on other clause sets, freeing up your time to work on other tasks.

Along with improvements to backend processes, this release includes front-end enhancements that provide status updates for clause sets being generated in the background.

A new messaging feature provides the status of your new clause set so you stay aware of its completion. Furthermore, if you attempt an action that is not available while the clause set is being generated, the system will notify you that the action is unavailable.

Finally, you will receive an email notification once the clause set generation is complete.

Accessibility improvements

This release also includes several accessibility-related improvements, but not limited to the following:

  • Labels on specific buttons and grids that were previously missing are now included to ensure screen readers can provide appropriate context.
  • Element names are now correctly used in the instructions read by the screen reader.
  • Heading structures were updated to follow a sequential order.
