Install AI Claim Document Summary Module - PostgreSQL

Prepare for installation

The AI Claim Document Summary add-on module ships as a separate module supported on Connected Claims. After installation and setup, this module uses AI to generate a summary of each PDF document that is uploaded to a claim, allowing claims adjusters to quickly scan a few bullet points without having to read the entire document top to bottom.

This guide outlines the steps for downloading and installing the AI Claim Document Summary add-on module before incorporating it with your Connected Claims Base application.

Before starting the installation process, review the System Prerequisites to make sure all minimum requirements are met.

System prerequisites

This section details the minimum requirements your system must meet to run the AI Claim Document Summary add-on module.

• Appian version 26.6 or greater.
• An Appian Cloud environment with the advanced or premium platform tiers.
• A supported version of PostgreSQL as a business data source.
  • Note: The PostgreSQL database name must be jdbc/CCM
• A supported web browser.
• Imported Connected Claims Base application version 2.0 or higher, which includes the following application containers:
  • Connected Claims Management Base (CCM)
  • CCM Studio Generated Objects

Download the software package

Download the software package for the AI Claim Document Summary add-on module, which contains the following files. You use these files when you install the module.

• PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnDocumentsSummaryAiv1.2.0.sql
• PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnDocumentsSummaryAiv1.2.0.zip

To download the software package:

1. In My Appian, navigate to the Support tab.
2. Select DOWNLOADS > SOLUTIONS.
3. In the grid, find and click Appian Connected Claims.
4. Under Downloads, click Appian Connected Claims and agree to the License Agreement.
5. Click Postgres CCM Add On: Documents Summary AI v1.0.0 to download the ZIP file.
6. Unzip PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnDocumentsSummaryAiv1.2.0.zip to access the installation files.

Import the application

Import the AI Claim Document Summary database script and application files into the target environment.

To import the database script:

1. Run the PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnDocumentsSummaryAiv1.2.0.sql DDL script that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package in your PostgreSQL business database.

To import the application:

1. In the target environment, log in as the deployment user.
2. Navigate to the Appian Designer.
3. Click IMPORT.
4. Click UPLOAD and choose the application PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnDocumentsSummaryAiv1.2.0.zip file that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package.
5. Click INSPECT to check for problems before you import.
6. Click IMPORT.

   Note:  The import can time out because of the file size. If the import times out, it continues in the background.

7. Review the import results to verify the following CCM Add On: Documents Summary AI (CCM_DSAI) application container was imported.

Set up the module after installation

After you install the AI Claim Document Summary add-on module, follow the steps in Setting Up AI Claim Document Summary to start using this functionality with Connected Claims.
