oct2bin( value, place )

Converts an Octal number as text to a Binary number as text.

Parameters

Octal value as text to convert, such as 771.

place

Number

The number of places in the result.

Usage considerations

Using the value parameter

Invalid digits for a value parameter, including signs, are ignored.

Using the place parameter

The default value for place is however many places are necessary to represent the number.

oct2bin(144) returns 1100100
