What's New in Process Mining 5.4?

Process Mining is deprecated with Appian 24.2 and will no longer be available in an upcoming release.

Instead, we encourage customers to use Process HQ to explore and analyze business processes and data.

This page describes what's available in the latest releases of Mining Prep and Process Mining.

Version 5.4 (Release date: 31 August 2022)

Introducing a more unified design across Process Mining

We’ve improved the icons, input fields, and styling in Process Mining and Mining Prep to be more easily recognized and to better align with the rest of our platform. You’ll notice a streamlined sidebar, easier to understand icons, a consistent color palette, and other quality of life enhancements. If you are already familiar with Appian, you will feel right at home navigating Process Mining and discovering insights into your processes. And if you’re new to Appian, you’ll enjoy the renewed look and feel.

Improved usability and error handling in Mining Prep

In this release, we’ve made several usability enhancements to Mining Prep to improve your experience transforming data.

For example, you’ll notice:

  • Improved error messages throughout the system to better guide you through resolving common errors.
  • A new loading animation to make it clearer when the system is performing an operation.
  • New data type icons on column headers in your data previews to make it easier to keep track of data types in your data set.
