Review AI-updated alternate clause text Government Clause Automation (GCA) provides a sequential review screen where privileged users approve, edit, or reject AI-processed alternate clause text. The review screen presents clauses one at a time, displaying the original clause text alongside the AI-updated version with the change tracking to view the updates easily. You can review clauses at your own pace across multiple sessions. Any approvals, edits, or rejections are automatically saved when you exit the review screen — you never lose progress. Unreviewed clauses remain in Pending Review status until you return. Access the review screen You can access the review screen in Government Clause Automation (GCA) from two entry points: Processing banner on the Clauses page: After alternate clause processing completes, click Start Review in the banner. Individual clause summary: Click a clause with Pending Review or Needs Manual Update status to open its summary, then click Review. Both entry points acquire the single-user review lock. For details about the lock and how it appears on the Clauses page, see Start a review from the Clauses page. Single-user review lock In Government Clause Automation (GCA), only one privileged user can access the review screen at a time. GCA enforces a session lock that applies across both entry points — if one user is reviewing from the banner, another user cannot access individual clause review, and vice versa. Lock behavior: Lock acquired: When you click Start Review or open an individual clause for review, GCA acquires the session lock. Lock released: When you exit the review screen via Save Progress & Exit or by closing the review popup. Session timeout: If you leave the review screen open without exiting (for example, closing the browser tab accidentally), the lock remains active until the timeout expires. The default session timeout is four hours (configurable by the implementation team). Lock conflict messages: Scenario Message Another user attempts to start review while you are reviewing "Another user is currently reviewing clauses. Please try again later." Another user attempts to rerun failed clauses while you are reviewing "Another user is currently reviewing clauses. Rerun is not available until the review session ends." Your session times out while you are reviewing "Your review session has timed out. All approved progress has been saved. Please start a new session to continue." Note: If you accidentally close the browser tab, the session remains locked until the timeout expires. The same user also sees the "another user is reviewing" message when attempting to re-enter. Contact your implementation team to manually reset the lock if you need immediate re-access. Navigate the review screen The review screen in Government Clause Automation (GCA) presents clauses sequentially. Use the following controls to navigate: Next: Move to the next clause in the filtered list. Previous: Return to the previous clause. Review a Pending Review clause In Government Clause Automation (GCA), for clauses in Pending Review status, the review screen displays: The original clause text (before processing). The AI-updated clause text (after processing) with change tracking. Alternate clause instruction as mentioned in the clause text. Available actions for Pending Review clauses: Action What it does Approve & Next Accept the AI-updated text as-is and move to the next clause. Edit & Save Edit the AI-updated text, save your changes (marking the clause as approved), and move to the next clause. Reject & Keep Original Reject the AI-suggested text and retain the original clause text. The clause is marked as reviewed. Note: The approve or reject actions on the clauses cannot be undone. Any edits to the text are also added to the change tracking. When you save the edits and come out of the edit experience, you can see the changes appearing with the change tracking. Inside the edit experience, you must not highlight any text, as any highlights are identified as fill-ins. Adding new fill-ins are also not allowed in the edit interface as you need to tag the fill-in type. If you need to create a new fill-in, you need to approve the text and go into edit clause to add the new fill-ins. Review a Needs Manual Update clause The AI did not generate a valid result from the alternate instructions for clauses in Needs Manual Update status. The review screen displays the original clause text and an explanation of why automated processing failed. Available actions for Needs Manual Update clauses: Action What it does Edit & Approve Manually edit the clause text to apply the alternate instructions, then save and approve. Skip for now Leave the clause in Needs Manual Update status and move to the next clause. You can return to it later. Save progress and exit Government Clause Automation (GCA) automatically saves all approvals, edits, and rejections you make during a review session. There is no explicit "Close Without Saving" action — any actions you take are captured immediately. To exit the review screen: Click Save Progress & Exit to close the review screen and release the session lock. Close the browser tab or navigate away — your progress is preserved, but the session lock remains active until the timeout expires. When you return to the review screen in a future session, GCA resumes where you left off. Clauses you previously approved, edited, or rejected retain their status. Unreviewed clauses remain in Pending Review or their respective status. Session timeout behavior In Government Clause Automation (GCA), the default session timeout is four hours. If the timeout expires while you are actively reviewing: The review screen closes. All previously approved, edited, or rejected clauses retain their status. Any in-progress edits on the current clause (not yet submitted) may be lost. The session lock is released, and another user can access the review screen. Note: The session timeout duration is configurable by the implementation team. Contact your implementation team to adjust the timeout if the default four hours does not match your review workflow needs. Feedback Was this page helpful? SHARE FEEDBACK Loading...
