Install the Surveys and Questions Module - PostgreSQL

Prepare for installation

The Surveys and Questions add-on module ships as a separate application supported with Connected Claims. After installation and setup, this add-on module enables admin users to create reusable questions, organize them into surveys, and assign those surveys as tasks within the claims workflows.

This guide outlines the steps for downloading and installing the Surveys and Questions add-on module before incorporating it with your Appian Connected Claims Base application.

Before starting the installation process, review the System Prerequisites to make sure all minimum requirements are met.

System prerequisites

This section details the minimum requirements your system must meet to run the Surveys and Questions add-on module.

• Appian version 26.9 or greater.
• An Appian Cloud environment with the advanced or premium platform tiers.
• A supported version of PostgreSQL as a business data source. The PostgreSQL database name must be jdbc/CCM.
• A supported web browser.
• Imported Connected Claims Management Base Application v2.1, which includes the following application containers:
  • Connected Claims Management Base (CCM)
  • CCM Studio Generated Objects

Download the software package

Download the software package for the Surveys and Questions add-on module, which contains the following files. You use these files when you install the module.

• PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnSurveyTaskFrameworkv1.3.0.sql
• PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnSurveyTaskFrameworkv1.3.0.zip

To download the software package:

1. In My Appian, navigate to the Support tab.
2. Select DOWNLOADS > SOLUTIONS.
3. In the grid, find and click Connected Claims.
4. Under Downloads, click Postgres Survey and Question and agree to the License Agreement.
5. Click Postgres Survey and Question to download the ZIP file.
6. Unzip PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnSurveyTaskFrameworkv1.3.0.zip to access the installation files.

Create the database objects

To create the structure for the database tables, views, and other objects that are a part of the Surveys and Questions add-on module, you must run the PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnSurveyTaskFrameworkv1.3.0.sql DDL script in your PostgreSQL business database. You downloaded this script when you downloaded the software package. Run the script before you import the application, because the application depends on these database objects.

Import the application

Import the Surveys and Questions application into the target environment after you run the DDL script in Create the database objects.

To import the application:

1. In the target environment, sign in as the deployment user.
2. Go to Appian Designer.
3. Click IMPORT.
4. Click UPLOAD and choose the application PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnSurveyTaskFrameworkv1.3.0.zip file that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package.
5. Click INSPECT to check for problems before you import.

6. Click IMPORT.

   Note:  The Surveys and Questions import can time out because of the file size. If the import times out, wait for it to finish in the background and do not run it again. To confirm that the import finished, review the import results.

7. Review the import results to verify that the CCM Add-On: Surveys and Questions application container was imported.
