Install the Create Claim via Email Module - PostgreSQL

Prepare for installation

The Create Claim via Email add-on module ships as a separate module supported on Connected Claims. After installation and setup, this module enables automatic claim creation from incoming emails, allowing claims to be initiated directly from email communications.

This guide outlines the steps to download and install the Create Claim via Email add-on module before you incorporate it with your Connected Claims Base application.

Before starting the installation process, review the System Prerequisites to ensure you meet all the minimum requirements.

System prerequisites

Your system must meet the following minimum requirements to run the Create Claim via Email add-on module.

• Appian platform running version 26.6 or greater.
• An Appian Cloud environment that has the advanced or premium platform tiers.
• A supported version of PostgreSQL as a business data source.

  Note:  The PostgreSQL database name must be jdbc/CCM

• A supported web browser.
• Imported Connected Claims Management Base Application version 2.0 or higher, which includes the following application containers:
  • Connected Claims Management Base (CCM)
  • CCM Studio Generated Objects

Download the software package

Download the Create Claim via Email software package that contains the following files. You use these files in the remaining setup steps.

• CCMAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.zip
• CCMAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.properties
• CCMAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0-AdminConsole.zip
• CCMAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0-AdminConsole.properties

To download the software package:

1. In My Appian, navigate to the Support tab.
2. Select DOWNLOADS > SOLUTIONS.
3. In the grid, find and click Appian Connected Claims.
4. Under Downloads, click Appian Connected Claims and agree to the License Agreement.
5. Click Postgres CCM Add On: Claim Creation via Email v1.0 to download the ZIP file.
6. Unzip PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.zip to access the installation files.

Create the database objects

The MSGraph Mail Poller in the Create Claim via Email module can store mailbox email data in either MySQL or Oracle. Connected Claims creates all tables that the MSGraph Mail Poller uses in the MySQL cloud database, and creates the remaining tables in the PostgreSQL database.

To create the structure for the database tables related to MSGraph Mail Poller, import the MysqlCCMAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.sql DDL script that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package.

To import the database script:

1. In the target environment, log in as the deployment user.
2. Navigate to the Cloud Database.
3. Click the Appian database schema or the same database schema which holds the tables related to the Connected Claims Management Base application.
4. Click IMPORT.
5. Click Choose File and upload the database script for the application.
6. Click IMPORT.

To create the structure for the PostgreSQL database tables, views, and other objects that are part of the Postgres Create Claim via Email in your PostgreSQL business database, run the 01.CCMAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.sql DDL script that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package.

Import the application

Import the Create Claim via Email database script and application files into the target environment.

To import the database script:

1. In your PostgreSQL business database, run the PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.sql DDL script that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package.

To import the application:

1. In the target environment, log in as the deployment user.
2. Navigate to Appian Designer.
3. Click IMPORT.
4. Click UPLOAD and choose the application PostgresConnectedClaimsManagementAddOnClaimCreationViaEmailv1.1.0.zip file that you downloaded when you downloaded the software package.
5. Click INSPECT to check for problems before you import.
6. Click IMPORT.

   Note:  The import can time out because of the file size. If the import times out, it continues in the background.

7. Review the import results to verify the following CCM Add On: Claim Creation via Email (CCM_EML_TRI) application container was imported.

Set up the module after installation

After you install the Create Claim via Email add-on module, follow the steps in Setting Up Create Claim via Email to start using this capability with Connected Claims.
