The central record types and database entities in Connected Claims are associated with claims, claim types, and claim categories. Understanding the relationships between these entities helps you understand how the data in Connected Claims works together. The entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) on this page illustrate the main entities in Connected Claims and their relationships to each other. To read an ERD more easily, save each image as a PNG file and print it. The following legend uses diagram symbols, notations, and colors to indicate the different relationship types and data types in the ERDs: Primary key (PK): Labels the field that uniquely identifies a record in an entity. Foreign key (FK): Labels the field that links an entity to another entity. One: The relationship connects to exactly one record. Many: The relationship connects to multiple records. Zero or one: The relationship connects to no record or one record. One or many: The relationship connects to at least one record. Zero or many: The relationship connects to no record or to multiple records. Transactional data (green): Entities that hold transactional data. Reference data (blue): Entities that hold reference data, which is not editable in the Connected Claims interface. Configuration reference data (purple): Entities that hold reference data, which is editable in the Connected Claims interface. Metadata columns: All tables include the metadata columns IS_ACTIVE, CREATED_BY, CREATED_ON, MODIFIED_BY, and MODIFIED_ON.
