The AI Smart Search module is a pre-built, self-contained application that leverages Appian's private AI to enable natural language search across cases, tasks, and documents using semantic matching instead of exact keyword matching. The AI Smart Search module is shipped with the AI version of the Case Management Studio base application for v2.2 that comes with all AI modules pre-incorporated.

By using the AI Smart Search module with your Case Management Studio Base application, you empower your case workers to find relevant cases, tasks, and documents more efficiently, even when they don't remember exact terminology. The AI Smart Search module reduces the time spent on case research and improves your team's overall productivity.

Leverage Appian AI

AI Smart Search provides an advanced way for you to utilize Appian's AI capabilities in Case Management Studio. It allows your case workers to use semantic search, a way to search using natural language queries that understand context and meaning, instead of exact word matches.

Traditional search requires users to remember exact terminology and can only search structured data through filters. When your team has to process a high volumes of cases, it becomes difficult to find what they're looking for if they don't remember the exact words or phrases used. AI Smart Search solves this by understanding semantic relationships. Searching for "fraud" will also return cases mentioning "identity theft" or similar concepts. Additionally, case workers can find personal injury cases involving construction companies and faulty equipment without knowing the exact terminology used in case records.
