View this page in the latest version of Appian. Dynatrace Share Share via LinkedIn Reddit Email Copy Link Print On This Page Purpose The Dynatrace page in the Admin Console enables you to integrate Dynatrace with Appian to monitor application performance. Dynatrace is a third-party observability platform. You must have a Dynatrace account to perform this integration. Access To access the Dynatrace page, go to the Admin Console. Then, in the left navigation menu, under Integration, click Dynatrace. Enable Dynatrace Enabling Dynatrace allows it to collect performance data in sites, portals, embedded interfaces, and Tempo. Prerequisites for enabling Dynatrace Enabling Dynatrace requires the following: Dynatrace account: A Dynatrace account with a JavaScript snippet. To find the snippet, see the Dynatrace documentation for setting up agentless RUM. Steps to enable Dynatrace To enable Dynatrace: In the Admin Console, go to the Dynatrace page. Turn on the Enable Dynatrace toggle. Note: Enabling Dynatrace disables the Content Security Policy for certain areas of your environment. See Dynatrace impact on Content Security Policy to understand which areas are affected and whether this tradeoff is acceptable for your organization. In the JavaScript Snippet field, paste the JavaScript snippet from your Dynatrace account. The snippet looks similar to: <script type="text/javascript" src="https://js-cdn.dynatrace.com/jstag/…/…_complete.js" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>. Click SAVE CHANGES. (Optional) If you want to include portals in your performance monitoring, republish the affected portals. Note: Importing Admin Console configurations to another environment does not republish portals. You need to manually republish each portal or publish through a deployment for changes to take effect in the target environment. Dynatrace impact on Content Security Policy Certain areas of Appian have a strict Content Security Policy (CSP), including sign-in screens, Appian Sites, and user input tasks. A CSP is an HTTP response header that helps prevent malicious attacks by controlling which domains and resource types are trusted. Dynatrace is incompatible with strict CSP headers. When Dynatrace is enabled, the strict CSP is disabled for the environment but remains enabled for sign-in screens. Appian's secure architecture prevents security threats throughout your Appian environment, but some organizations require a strict CSP in addition to these security measures. If your organization has a policy that requires a strict CSP, don't enable Dynatrace. Appian Mobile considerations Dynatrace isn't supported in the Appian Mobile app. However, it does work in mobile browsers. Feedback Was this page helpful? SHARE FEEDBACK Loading...
