Appian Vendor Management (VM) comes with an integration with Azure OpenAI that can be used to generate message thread summaries. To configure this, you need to register for an account with Azure OpenAI and configure the connected system with your account credentials. Follow the instructions for configuring the Azure OpenAI Integration in Vendor Management. Caution: If you do not plan to use the Azure OpenAI integration, you must toggle the AS_VM_MSG2_BOL_THREAD_SUMMARY_TOGGLE constant value to False in Designer. Configure VM application After setting up your Azure OpenAI account, you need to configure the Vendor Management (VM) application to use the API key. Register for a paid account with Azure OpenAI, if your organization does not already have one Note: Although a free account is sufficient for development and testing environments, active applications quickly reach the tier request limit. Generate an API key for the account. Update AS VM CS Azure Open AI. Paste your API key in the API Key field. If your pre-existing Azure OpenAI account connects to multiple organizations that pay separately for requests, you must specify which organization bills for the requests. To route these charges, complete the Organization field in the VM solution. The thread summary gets updated each time a message is added to a thread. Feedback Was this page helpful?
