Introduction to ProcureSight Plus ProcureSight Plus (PS+) represents a paradigm shift in government acquisition technology. Rather than forcing acquisition professionals to leave their system of record to conduct market research in disparate external portals, PS+ brings the data to them. It is an integrated data service that embeds Appian AI, high-fidelity data fabric, semantic search, and spend analytics directly into your agency's existing workflows. PS+ provides a single, comprehensive view of all agency procurement by seamlessly connecting with other Appian tools like Requirements Management (RM) and ProcureSight Enterprise (PSE). This integration actively utilizes and preserves critical market intelligence, ranging from vendor past performance to historical pricing structures, within the official contract file, ensuring it is not merely discovered but employed. ProcureSight Plus use case: Streamlining collaboration and ensuring compliance In the high-stakes environment of federal procurement, efficiency often battles with compliance. ProcureSight Plus (PS+) harmonizes these needs through integrated workflows. Melanie Conners, a Contract Specialist at the National Surveillance and Intelligence Bureau (NSIB), faces a common challenge when defining new requirements. Traditionally, she would leave the NSIB's case management system and manually search external sites like SAM.gov, Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), or GAO.gov for relevant Statements of Work (SOWs). Once found, the SOW is downloaded to her desktop and shared with a colleague via email. This fragmented approach results in a loss of context regarding the selection of the document within the email chain, and the crucial supporting evidence for the decision is missing from the official contract file. With PS+ embedded directly into NSIB’s Requirements Management (RM) solution, Melanie can take advantage of a seamless workflow, reducing research time and manual effort. For example, when she enters the description for a new requirement, PS+ automatically runs a semantic search against millions of records to find historically similar procurements, understanding the search intent, not just matching keywords. Melanie also needs to identify capable vendors on GSA contract vehicles for her requirement. Rather than navigating between GSA eLibrary for MAS data and separate portals for Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs), Melanie enters her requirement description in natural language into the GSA Vehicles search. ProcureSight Plus (PS+) searches MAS contract documents for semantic matches and queries GWAC award data from Alliant 2, 8(a) STARS III, VETS 2, and Polaris. Results are grouped by Special Item Number (SIN) for MAS entries and by contract vehicle for GWAC entries, complete with a socio-economic breakdown of matched vendors. For each matched vendor, an AI-generated match reason explains why the vendor is relevant to Melanie's specific requirement. Melanie can explore the match details depending on the result type: For MAS document matches, Melanie clicks a document link to open the contract in the document viewer. PS+ auto-scrolls to and highlights the matched text, so she can immediately verify the vendor's stated capability without reading the entire price list. For MAS description matches and GWAC contract matches, Melanie clicks the contract ID link to open the Contract Match Insights modal. PS+ displays an AI-generated list of relevant award capabilities that explain why the vendor matched her requirement. Next, Melanie can utilize AI Document Chat to gain additional insights from a returned Performance Work Statement (PWS) from a previous award. For instance, she could ask the AI Document Chat, "What were the cybersecurity deliverables in this contract?" Melanie could receive an instant answer directly from the document, eliminating the need to manually read a lengthy text for this information. This collaborative context is further enhanced as Melanie attaches the relevant PWS and the vendor's past performance report directly to the Requirement record in Appian. Finally, this streamlined process ensures auditable compliance when Melanie reviews the complete package. She can view the supporting market research right next to the requirement, establishing a complete audit trail and documented compliance without any data loss. Beyond individual requirements, Melanie uses PS+ Spend Under Management (SUM) Analytics to evaluate the agency's broader contract portfolio. Melanie opens the SUM Analytics page and reviews the Spend Dashboard to identify categories with high levels of unmanaged spend. Drilling into a specific category on the Category Insights tab, Melanie sees each award tagged with a shift potential status. For awards that have not yet been evaluated, Melanie selects a batch and triggers an ad-hoc AI evaluation. The AI analyzes each award against managed spend criteria and assigns shift potential ratings (Low, Medium, or High). Melanie can also bulk update shift potential statuses for a group of awards after reviewing the AI recommendations, helping her team prioritize which contracts to target for consolidation. The configurable savings rate on the Category Insights tab are set to 10% by default. This gives Melanie a quick estimate of potential savings across each spend category.
