Installing ProcureSight Plus

This content applies solely to ProcureSight Plus, which must be purchased separately from the Appian base platform. This content was written for Appian 26.6 and may not reflect the interfaces or functionality of other Appian versions.

ProcureSight Plus (PS+) integrates public procurement data services into your Appian environment. Installing ProcureSight Plus 1.7 consists of four main steps.

Before starting the installation, review the system requirements for ProcureSight Plus to confirm all minimum requirements are met.

System requirements for ProcureSight Plus

  • Appian platform version: 26.6 or later.
  • Database: A supported version of MariaDB or Oracle as a business data source.
  • Web browser: A supported web browser.

Note:  The SQL scripts in Step 3: Create the database objects for ProcureSight Plus are optimized for MariaDB and Oracle databases. For other supported databases, modify the SQL scripts before running them.

Step 1: Download the ProcureSight Plus software package

To install ProcureSight Plus 1.7, download the software package that contains the following files:

  • 01.ProcureSightPlusv1.7.0.sql: SQL script for creating the database objects required by ProcureSight Plus.
  • ProcureSightPlusv1.7.0.zip: Application package to import into the Appian environment.
  • ProcureSightPlusv1.7.0.properties: Import customization file for configuring the ProcureSight Plus application package.

To download the ProcureSight Plus 1.7 software package:

  1. In My Appian, navigate to the SUPPORT tab.
  2. Click the DOWNLOADS tab.
  3. Click SOLUTIONS.
  4. In the grid, find and open ProcureSight+ V26.6.1.7.
  5. Under Downloads, click ProcureSight+ v1.7.0 and agree to the License Agreement.
  6. Click Download ProcureSight+ to download the ZIP file.
  7. Unzip ProcureSightPlusv1.7.0.zip to access the installation files.

Step 2: Deploy plug-ins for ProcureSight Plus

You must deploy the following plug-ins for ProcureSight Plus 1.7 to work:

  • Appian Regular Expression Functions
  • Appian Solutions Plugin
  • Content Tools
  • Dynamic Document Generator
  • HTML To PDF Conversion
  • PDF Tools
  • ZIP Utility

The steps for deploying plug-ins are different depending on if you have an Appian Cloud or a self-managed environment.

Appian Cloud environments

To deploy the plug-ins in an Appian Cloud environment for ProcureSight Plus 1.7:

  1. In the target environment, sign in as the deployment user.
  2. Go to Admin Console > Plug-ins.
  3. Click ADD NEW PLUG-INS.
  4. Search for and select Appian Regular Expression Functions.
  5. Click DEPLOY.
  6. Repeat the search and deploy steps for each remaining plug-in:
    • Appian Solutions Plugin
    • Content Tools
    • Dynamic Document Generator
    • HTML To PDF Conversion
    • PDF Tools
    • ZIP Utility

Self-managed environments

To deploy the plug-ins in a self-managed environment for ProcureSight Plus 1.7:

  1. Download the following plug-ins from the Appian AppMarket:
  2. Follow the Deploying Plug-ins instructions to deploy each plug-in.

Step 3: Create the database objects for ProcureSight Plus

ProcureSight Plus 1.7 requires database tables, views, and other objects in the business data source. Create these objects by running the provided DDL script.

To create the ProcureSight Plus database objects:

Note:  The DDL file is optimized for MariaDB and Oracle databases. If you are using a different type of database, modify the DDL file before running it.

Step 4: Import the ProcureSight Plus application

After creating the database objects, import the ProcureSight Plus 1.7 application files into the target environment.

To import the ProcureSight Plus 1.7 application:

  1. In the target environment, sign in as the deployment user.
  2. Go to Appian Designer.
  3. Click IMPORT.
  4. Click UPLOAD and choose the ProcureSightPlusv1.7.0.zip file from the downloaded software package.
  5. Select Include related import customization file and click UPLOAD. Select the ProcureSightPlusv1.7.0.properties file from the downloaded software package.
  6. Click INSPECT to verify that no import issues exist. The inspection may take several minutes to complete.
  7. Click IMPORT PACKAGE.

Note:  The import may time out due to file size. If the import times out, the process continues in the background.
