Set Up SAM.gov Integration

GAM Acquisition Central integrates with SAM.gov to pull vendor data directly into the application. The SAM.gov integration supports vendor onboarding by importing core vendor information, checking for federal exclusions, and keeping vendor records current with the latest registration data.

To use the SAM.gov integration in GAM Acquisition Central, you must register for an API key from SAM.gov and configure the application to use the key provided.

Register for a SAM.gov API key

GAM Acquisition Central uses the SAM.gov public API to retrieve vendor entity and exclusion data. To use the SAM.gov integration, you must register for an API key.

To register for a SAM.gov API key:

  1. Navigate to SAM.gov.
  2. Sign up to create a new account.
  3. Go to Workspace > Account Details.
  4. Click Request API Key to generate the API key.
  5. Copy the generated API key.

Note:  SAM.gov sends a confirmation email after the API key is generated. Save the API key in a secure location — you need it in the next step.

Configure the GAM Acquisition Central connected systems

After receiving your API key from SAM.gov, configure the connected systems in GAM Acquisition Central to use the key for vendor data retrieval. GAM Acquisition Central uses two connected systems for the SAM.gov integration: one for entity data and one for exclusion data.

Configure the SAM.gov entity connected system

To configure the entity connected system for GAM Acquisition Central:

  1. Go to Appian Designer > AS GSM Full Application.
  2. Select Connected System from the object type filter.
  3. Select AS GSM CS Search API for SAM gov Entity.
  4. Find the Value field and click the Clear link next to it.
  5. In the cleared Value field, paste the copied API key.
  6. Click SAVE.

Configure the SAM.gov exclusion connected system

To configure the exclusion connected system for GAM Acquisition Central:

  1. In Appian Designer, go to AS GSM Full Application.
  2. Select Connected System from the object type filter.
  3. Select AS GSM CS Search API for SAM Gov Exclusion.
  4. Find the Value field and click the Clear link next to it.
  5. In the cleared Value field, paste the copied API key.
  6. Click SAVE.
