Usage limits may apply. Connect to your Databricks environment to query and manage that data from Appian. The Databricks connected system stores your Databricks authentication credentials and connection details. Create a Databricks connected system to use a Databricks table or view as the source of a record type. For information that pertains to all connected systems, see Connected System Object. Create a Databricks connected system To create a Databricks connected system: In your application, go to the Build view. Click NEW > Connected System. From the Create Connected System dialog, select Databricks. Configure the Databricks connected system properties. Scroll or drag to pan · ⌘+/⌘− to zoom · Esc to close Click CREATE. Create a record type that connects to Databricks. Properties The Databricks connected system has the following properties: Field Description Name The name of the connected system that appears in Appian design objects, such as record types. Description Supplemental information about the connected system. System Logo An image document used to visually represent the external system being connected to. The logo appears in the integration designer and in the Process Modeler on integrations that connect to this system (using the Call Integration Smart Service). If no document is selected, a default logo is used instead. Server Hostname The server hostname for your Databricks workspace. For example: <WORKSPACE_INSTANCE>.cloud.databricks.com. If you do not know your server hostname, consult your Databricks workspace administrator. HTTP Path The HTTP path for the SQL warehouse or cluster. For example: /sql/1.0/warehouses/<WAREHOUSE_ID>. Default Catalog The default Unity Catalog to use when connecting. Catalogs are the top-level container in the Unity Catalog three-level namespace (catalog.schema.table). Default Schema The default schema within the selected catalog. Schemas provide logical groupings of tables and views within a catalog. Authentication The authentication method used by this connected system. Data Source Shortcut Determines whether to show the connected system as a data source shortcut in the record type configuration. Shortcut Display Name The name of the data source shortcut option. The Shortcut Display Name property only appears when Data Source Shortcut is selected. Tags The tags applied to the object. If the tag you need doesn't exist yet, click Create New Tag to create a new tag without leaving the dialog. Authentication Databricks does not support basic authentication. The following authentication methods are available: Personal Access Token (PAT): Select Personal Access Token and provide your Databricks personal access token as the password. Each PAT is scoped to a single Databricks workspace. Databricks considers PATs a legacy authentication method and recommends OAuth for production use. OAuth 2.0: Client Credentials Grant: Select OAuth 2.0 Client Credentials Grant for secure enterprise connectivity. This method uses a Databricks service principal with an OAuth secret to obtain access tokens and is the recommended approach for automated and production workloads. Feedback Was this page helpful?
