Set Up Inline Editing for SharePoint

On This Page
This content applies solely to Award Management, which must be purchased separately from the Appian base platform. This content was written for Appian 26.6 and may not reflect the interfaces or functionality of other Appian versions.

SharePoint integration in Award Management

AM can be integrated with SharePoint. To enable and use this integration, you must set up your Microsoft Azure environment, create a SharePoint folder, and configure the application to turn on inline editing. Inline editing enables end users to open documents in SharePoint and collaborate with team members until documents are complete.

Set up Microsoft Azure for Award Management

To use inline editing in Award Management, the solution needs a location in your Microsoft Azure environment to store the documents when editing them.

To set up a location in Microsoft Azure:

  1. Access your Azure environment and register an application.
    • Copy the Application (client) ID and the Directory (tenant) ID of the registered application.
  2. Add API permissions to the registered application.
    • Add the Files.ReadWrite.All permission to the Microsoft Graph API.
    • Grant admin consent for the permission.
  3. Add a client secret to the registered application.
    • Copy the client secret Value.

Set up SharePoint folder for Award Management

After setting up the Azure environment, create a folder in SharePoint to store the documents AM opens for inline editing.

  1. Create a folder in a SharePoint document library to associate with the AM solution.
  2. Find the Site ID for the SharePoint site where the document library resides.
  3. Using the Site ID, find the Drive ID of the document library storing your documents.
  4. Find the Folder ID of the folder created in step 1.

Tip:  Save the Drive ID and Folder ID to use them in the Configure AM with SharePoint step. The Site ID is only needed to look up the Drive ID and is not stored in the application.

Configure Award Management with SharePoint

After setting up Azure and SharePoint, configure the AM application to connect to SharePoint and enable inline editing.
