View AI Actions Consumed by a Model

Every DocCenter model consumes AI actions when it processes a document. Classification, extraction, verification, and redaction models all surface their AI action consumption in an AI Usage tab so that you can monitor usage, compare the cost of different configurations, and stay within your AI action allocation.

Note:  The AI Usage tab appears only when Log AI Usage is enabled on the model. Enable it when you create or update the model.

Where AI action consumption appears

DocCenter records AI action consumption at three levels. Each level answers a different question.

Level What it shows When to use it
Model Total and average AI action usage across every version and instance of the model, including a usage trend over time. Usage recorded against the model version—such as self-improvement runs that aren't tied to a single instance—is included here. Monitor overall consumption for a model and spot trends after configuration or volume changes.
Model version AI action usage for a specific version of the model. Compare the cost of one version against another when you iterate on a model.
Instance AI action usage for a single processing run, broken down by each AI call. Investigate the cost of an individual document or configuration.

View AI actions for a model

To view a model's AI action consumption:

  1. In the model's page group, click Models.
  2. Find and click the model you're interested in.
  3. Go to the AI Usage tab.
  4. In the Usage trend chart, adjust the Time frame to review usage for the period you're interested in, and hover over a bar in the chart to see that day's AI action usage.

View AI actions for an instance

To view the AI action consumption of a single processing run:

  1. In the model's page group, click Instances.
  2. Find and click the instance you're interested in.
  3. Go to the AI Usage tab to see the AI actions consumed by each AI call in that run.

If you pass usage groups when a process model runs the model, the usage groups appear as tags beside each AI call on the instance's AI Usage tab.
