Setting up ProcureSight Plus Integration

On This Page
This content applies solely to Requirements Management, which must be purchased separately from the Appian base platform.

Introduction

After you have installed ProcureSight Plus (PS+), there are several configurations you need to perform to utilize the application.

Note:  Updates in Appian Designer must be done with caution by someone familiar with Appian development.

Step 1: Configure user groups and security

Configuring user groups and security is a good place to start. To use PS+ in RM, you must add the AS RM All Business Users group to the AS PSP Users group in PS+.

You must know:

  • If your organization has any additional business roles that are not covered in the default business groups.
  • What users must be members of each business group.

For more information on groups and security, see Groups Management.

Step 2: Set up SAM.gov integration

Next, set up an integration with the SAM.gov service, which enables vendor search.

  1. Go to Appian Designer > AS ProcureSight+ Full Application.
  2. Search for and open the AS_PSP_CS_SAM connected system.
  3. Find the Value field and update it with your API key.
  4. Click SAVE.

Step 3: Set vendor resync wait time (Optional)

Upon creating a vendor report, the SAM vendor information is synced to Appian records. If the vendor has been synced within a certain time frame, then the process will use the synced record rather than calling the SAM integration. If you wish to adjust this wait time, complete the steps below.

  1. Go to Appian Designer > AS ProcureSight+ Full Application.
  2. Search for and open the AS_PSP_VENDOR_RESYNC_WAIT_TIME_MINUTES constant.
  3. Find the Value field and update it with your wait time in minutes.
  4. Click SAVE.

Note:  Alternatively, set this value in the properties file upon import. If you do not wish to use the synced record data, set the constant value to 0.

Step 4: Set up ProcureSight data service integration

Next, set up an integration with the ProcureSight Data Service, which enables opportunity, opportunity document, vendor capability, and protest document search.

Note:  Submit a support ticket to get the URL and API key for configuring this connected system.

  1. Go to Appian Designer > AS ProcureSight+ Full Application.
  2. Search for and open the AS_PSP_CS_ProcureSightDataService connected system.
  3. Find the Value field and update it with the provided API key.
  4. Find the Base URL field and update with the provided URL.
  5. Click SAVE.

Step 5: Configure Document Deletion Options (Optional)

Temporary document: When generating a vendor report, a document is stored in the AS PSP Temporary Documents folder. Due to performance considerations, periodically, the content of this folder must be deleted.

  1. Go to Appian Designer > AS ProcureSight+ Full Application.
  2. Search for and open the AS_PSP_INT_DELETE_TEMPORARY_DOCS_INTERVAL constant.
  3. Find the Value field and desired interval (in weeks) for deleting documents from this folder. Default is 1 week.
  4. Click SAVE.
  5. Search for and open the AS_PSP_TIME_TO_RUN_DELETE_TEMPORARY_DOCUMENTS contant.
  6. Find the Value field and desired time for running the process to delete documents in this folder. Default is 8:00 AM.

Note:  Configure the time zone and day of the week using the trigger node in the AS PSP Delete All Temporary Document process model.

  7. Click SAVE.

Document chat documents: When accessing a procurement document, the document is saved in Appian, and a row is written to the AS_PSP_DocumentChat record. Due to performance considerations, periodically, the content of this folder and the corresponding record must be deleted.

  1. Access your Appian Designer.
  2. In your application, select AS ProcureSight+ Full Application.
  3. Next to the object type, select Constant.
  4. Select AS_PSP_INT_DELETE_DOCUMENT_CHAT_DOCS_INTERVAL.
  5. Find the Value field and desired interval (in weeks) for deleting documents from this folder and their corresponding records. Default is 1 week.
  6. Click SAVE.
  7. Select AS_PSP_TIME_TO_RUN_DELETE_DOCUMENT_CHAT.
  8. Find the Value field and desired time for running the process to delete AS_PSP_Document Chat records and documents in this folder. Default is 8:00 AM.

Note:  Configure the time zone and day of the week using the trigger node in the AS PSP Delete Chat Record Documents process model.

  9. Click SAVE.
