abs() Function

abs( number )

Returns the absolute value(s) of the specified number(s).

Parameters

A number or array of numbers, the absolute value(s) of which will be returned.

Usage considerations

If the number values are integers, the function will return an integer.

Examples

Single number

abs(-2.0)

Returns 2.

List of numbers

abs({-1, -2.3, -6.78})

Returns {1, 2.3, 6.78}. If the number is a list of numbers, then the function returns a list of absolute values.
