hex2oct() Function

hex2oct( value, place )

Converts a Hex number as text to an Octal number as text.

Parameters

Hex value as text to convert, such as A5.

place

Number

The number of places in the result.

Usage considerations

Using the value parameter

Invalid digits for a value parameter, including signs, are ignored.

Using the place parameter

The default value for place is however many places are necessary to represent the number.

Examples

hex2oct(64) returns 144
