For Appian Cloud customers, upgrades are seamless: each site restart applies the latest version of Appian RPA, ensuring immediate access to new features, bug fixes, and improvements. Regardless of your version or hosting model, we encourage you to report any issues with Appian RPA. We are committed to addressing these issues through hotfixes to the latest available version, available to all customers. Your feedback is crucial in helping us enhance Appian RPA continuously. Self-managed support policies For self-managed customers, Appian commits to a support period of 6 months for each release of Appian RPA. This policy ensures that you have ample time to plan and implement upgrades at your convenience. Please note that while all RPA versions are backward compatible with the Appian platform, the availability of certain RPA features may depend on your version of Appian. Customers using older versions of the platform may not have access to some newer features until an upgrade is performed. This is especially important if you are a self-managed customer who manages your upgrade timelines independently from the Appian platform. Upgrading best practices As a best practice, we recommend that you always upgrade to the most recent version of Appian RPA when upgrading Appian. For Appian Cloud customers, this process is transparent: upgrades to the latest version occur automatically at each restart, facilitating access to the latest features and enhancements without additional effort. We encourage all self-managed customers, to plan regular upgrades of Appian RPA. Staying current with releases not only enhances your operations with new capabilities but also ensures that you benefit from the latest bug fixes and performance improvements.
