Function

oct2hex( value, place )

Converts an Octal number as text to a Hex number as text.

Parameters

Keyword Type Description

value

Text

Octal value as text to convert, such as 771.

place

Number

The number of places to return.

Returns

Text

Usage considerations

Using the value parameter

Invalid digits for a value parameter, including signs, are ignored.

Using the place parameter

The default value for place is however many places are necessary to represent the number.

Examples

oct2hex(144) returns 64
