Returns a substring from the middle of the specified text.

Syntax

mid ( text, start_num, num_chars )

text: (Text) The text from which the substring will be extracted.

start_num: (Number) The positional index of the first character of the substring to be returned.

num_chars: (Number) The length in characters of the substring to extract.

Notes

The first character of the entire text value is considered to have an index = 1.

mid("boston",4,2) returns to
