Integrations provide a way for Appian to get data and invoke services from outside systems. Integrations use HTTP RESTful services to communicate with other systems. Once an integration is created, it can be used in a rule, interface, or process model to interact with another system.
Connected systems are closely associated with integrations. Using connected systems, designers can store common authentication and base URL values across many integrations, simplifying design and deployment. Connected systems also let designers store key values for OAuth 2.0 integrations or API key integrations.
Each connected system template is custom for the service it connects to. Additionally it will tailor fit integrations that use this connected system with fields specific to that 3rd-party system.
This section of topics focuses on integrations and connected systems.
